Due to Carapex being a widely diverse ecosystem compared to every other planet within Kaithara, odd things  have evolved from here. One of these things being Gigantic Normadic Crabs, also known as Norma Crabs. Norma crabs have long since roamed Carapex, and despite their lack of sentience, understand basic sense of trade, feelings, and other things much like a dolphin. Historically, Norma crabs let Isopup's ride on their back for long distances in exchange for adequate food. In some cases, Norma crabs have been seen to accept runes, and even things of high trade value. 

As these creatures die, one thing that stays behind are their claws- they litter Carapex's floor, and often shrivel up and turn into burnable matter for  the next fall. If collected and waxed soon enough, you may preserve its bright coloration and stability. They are quite a value size due to their size and rarity.
